Venture Capital Strategy

WELM’s investment strategy is to invest in products and/or services which we know, such as AI-driven information & media; data analytics driven solutions; software as a service (SaaS); workflow solutions; regulatory compliance; and hardware/device businesses which exist in a variety of markets and customer segments.

We seek companies which are differentiated from their competition through innovation in products, a tight focus on solving real customer problems, creativity in strategy, and driven & disciplined execution in operations. WELM’s foundational belief is quite simply that great people and well-thought out strategy, in combination with disciplined and crisp execution, are the essential ingredients for successful and winning companies.

As advisors, WELM’s strategic focus is two-fold:  assisting its portfolio companies’ management teams and boards in securing winning talent and/or customer acquisition through its networks and connections, and secondly, assisting in the development of winning corporate strategies with senior management and boards of directors in fields it knows. We are active participants in observing company performance, and in making operating recommendations to management, as is appropriate, requested or necessary.

WELM maintains an active portfolio of 6-10 investments at any one time.
