Investment Proposals

Investment proposals come from a variety of sources, including our own national and local network of investment professionals and colleagues; directly from entrepreneurs and company founders; and from affiliated investment groups in Minneapolis, including Gopher Angels and Angel Pollination.

We believe that investment proposals are a representation of the company and its management, and as such, we entertain only professional proposals which illustrate 1), absolute clarity of vision; 2), a clear and transparent understanding of the core elements of financial success and how these will be secured and managed in the company’s operation, including strategies for an eventual exit; 3), an easily understandable alignment between product features, market characteristics, customer needs, pricing models, sales channels employed, and the dynamics of direct competitors; and 4), a clear, specific representation of the use of the funds raised and equity transferred.

Management must be able to articulate the problem which the company solves; why the solution offered is superlative in meeting the identified market need; what customer alternatives exist to the proposed solution, including competitive offerings; and a clear understanding of the sales strategies to be employed, in combination with realistic, "ground-up" sales forecasts.
